2021’s housing market is starting out strong, and with it has emerged several design trends for the heart of your home: the kitchen. Take a look at what’s sure to top buyers’ wish lists in the coming year.

1.Marble Countertops
Granite counters have been number one for years, but now the housing market is seeing a strong uptick in marble countertops. Bold styles like Calacatta Gold and Arabescato Cochia featuring strong veining and a luxurious air are especially popular among those who like to make a statement, and White Corian is a great choice for homeowners with a more minimalist aesthetic.

2.Wall-to-Wall Cabinetry
The current health climate has seen an increase in people making meals at home, and with that comes the need for more space. This is why wall-to-wall cabinets are going to continue to rise in popularity in 2021.

Though wallpaper has seen a resurgence in bedrooms and bathrooms over the last few years, it’s still not as commonly used in the kitchen. Design experts say this will change in 2021 as homeowners look to add a special spark to their abodes.

4. Hybrid Islands
Due to stay-at-home orders, people are spending more time than ever in the kitchen. Consequently, islands that provide additional cooking and seating space — known as hybrid islands — have been steadily rising in popularity and will continue to be all the rage over the next year.

5. White Palettes
All-white kitchens seemed to have fallen out of favor in the last couple years, but designers believe they will make a comeback in 2021. An all-white palette creates a warm, nostalgic feeling — something many homeowners had been missing over the past year.
