What truly differentiates an agent from an app — and even further, a good agent from a great agent — is the willingness to go above and beyond for their clients. An app simply can’t help a client clean out their home and stage to prepare it for showing or get the mail, feed the cats, walk the dogs and check on the pool filter when the homeowners are out of town — all things that agents have done in the past, and will always do.

Secure Reputable Vendors

In any real estate transaction, there are many moving parts — which usually means calling in the specialists. Any business can tout their skills online, but nothing compares to a referral from an agent who has firsthand experience with vendors who show up on time, respond to inquiries and get the job done right. These specialists can include Stagers, Roofers, HVAC technicians, landscapers, handymen, plumbers, electricians, structural engineers, maintenance workers, and more.

Tell The (Sometimes Uncomfortable) Truth

When you sell via an app, you may not know why your property has been sitting stagnant for so long. This is because you don’t have an honest agent there to tell you that perhaps your home needs a major deep cleaning, smells like your five golden retrievers and is in dire need of new exterior paint to boost curb appeal. Or that the house is improperly priced for the current market, which prevents buyers that are just out of its price range from even seeing the property in their searches.

Easily Answer Questions & Explain Concepts

Have you ever Googled something looking for answers just to end up more frustrated than when you started? That is what it’s like trying to understand dense real estate concepts using only an app. On the other hand, experienced in the trenches agents are always available to help you understand contracts, the state of the market, deeds, encumbrances, surveys, clouded titles, lot lines, CC&Rs, Mello Roos and local zoning laws — as well as anything that comes up in the course of your transaction. And if we dont know the answer we know where to go...not google!
